I would like to do what i can to start the discussion about how to implement a no homework policy for elementary children. I am a daycare owner/provider am i am helping children daily with their homework and i feel it is nothing more than unnecessary busy work. I am also hearing parents complaints of their children falling asleep at the dinner table from such a long day, but they still have homework to complete. Home life has become a battle to fit dinner, homework, bath, and bed routine in. Where is family and relax time. These children are not goven the time to decompress from the day, and i am talking about 6 to 8 year old. I would like my voice heard, but i do not know the right channels or forum. Other states have already implemented this policy and i think Maine should as well. Homework is beneficial in high school or even junior high, but lets leave it out of elementary schools or just not male it mandatory. Thank you

To Whom It May Concern Recently I heard a news broad cast that reported CMP was going to charge customers who sought alternative energy sources a $3.00 fee. The article went on to state that the PUC would consider this proposed charge and decide upon it. I write today to determine whether that report is valid and, if so, submit my strongest opposition to this proposed fee. Such a fee is wholly unfair as it seeks only to punish those who seek renewable energy sources and artificially undermine the market economy such competition produces. If CMP wants to stay in the energy business they will need to increase demand for their product not slap fees on those who seek out their competitors. Please, I urge you, do not allow this kind of socialism reduce the gains renewable energy has made in our State and the long term benefits they promise for our pocketbooks and our economy, not too mention our planet. Thanks for your consideration, Mary Fallon, Durham.

Dear PUC: I am a CMP customer who already pays an extra $12. per month on an average bill of $24./ month because I didn't want the new meter. The only read the meter ever other month, so it would be nice to get a break once in a while. My major concern is Iberdrola's request to basically stick it to alternative energy any way they can, by increasing rates on those who send power back into the system. When many of us are concerned with pollution of the environment, this shows that Ibedrola doesn't care about the environment at all. I hope the PUC will deny this request. Please let me know where the proceedings are. The State and CMP should be encouraging alternative energy. The State doesn't even give a tax break anymore, so I assume that Governor LePage doesn't care about alternative energy or making us less dependent on foreign and/or unsafe and polluting forms of energy. Please make my letter part of the public record regarding the CMP/Iberdrola rate increase. Thank you. Sincerely, Mary J. West

Scot Linkletter 207-654-2237 scot@mainewoodspelletco.com Is there anyone representing the customers with these constant rate increases? CMP is constantly requesting and receiving rate increases then blaming it on FERC. We are already paying as much to CMP for transmission less that 100 feet from the 115kv line the power lines that we own as we pay for the actual electricity. I think $45,000 per month to CMP for absolutely no work on their part is not only more than enough, it's excessive. The rates they are allowed to charge are nothing short of extortion and the regulatory agencies appear to be 'in their pocket' so to speak. Stop raising the transmission, delivery, and especially demand charges that CMP is allowed to rob us with. Reign this monopoly in.

Hello, My family has a camp near Great Pond Maine off of Stud Mill Rd. it is on a lake called Lower Sabao. My family has been going here since the Second World War. It is a very serene, quiet place. Over the last 15-20 years, we are now privy to low flying military helicopters flying to 100' of the lake surface and a natural gas pipeline the length of one side of Stud Mill Rd and now high voltage power lines on the other. From our peaceful lake in the middle of no where, these really pretty power lines can now be seen from most areas of the lake. Ironically, we have no cell reception, no cell data capacity or power on our lake. We bring propane to run our lights, stove, fridge and hot water. Hard to figure when now, several red lights blink 24hrs a day to mark the tops of transmitters nearby. Now, I realize the damage is done. After all, we are the little guys and we accept that CMP has more right to our properties than we do. Would it hurt these 10's of millions of dollar proje! cts that impact others to give something back? I DO NOT want power at my lake. But, it would cost them next to nothing to put in a cell relay tower with data. My wife hit a moose on our camp road 3800 (stud mill rd) and had to drive nearly 6 miles to report it. Now, there's a relay station a mile or so away. If we have to state at these lovely high tension lines for the rest of our lives that we certainly do not and cannot use, maybe in the name of safety and convenience we could get cellular access with data by a tower at that relay site. It wouldn't just be for us, this area is heavily forested and with the removal of medivac sites, cell phones could mean life or limb to these people.

CMP, along with Time-Warner, has the dubious reputation of being the most vilified vendor in the state. They routinely ask for rate increases without doing a thing to earn them or provide better service in any tangible way to their customers. Their increases are for their benefit in the guise of upgrading services and equipment. Ask any consumer if their CMP service is any different today than yesterday, or last week or last year. The answer will be no, but over and over, increases for CMP are always approved. I am on a fixed income and I do receive social security and my usage is no more now than it ever was, but I[m paying more and more to feed CMP coffers. I am certain CMP is oblivious to the impact their increases have on their customers - certainly as a public utility they have a right to earn a profit, but at what point is it incumbent upon them to take a hard look at what they're giving back?? Does anyone get a reduction when service is lost? No. CMP can get along quite nicely without another increase. Make them earn it. M. Clark, Saco, Maine

I want to voice my concern and disapproval of the proposed rate increase by CMP. Despite being a monopoly they continue to advertise with expensive TV ads. The products and services they provide are vital to the citizens of Maine who are already burdened by rising taxes, water and sewer rates. We are simply working hard just to make ends meet and falling further and further behind. I urge the PUC not to grant this increase.

To the Commissioners: (re: 2013-00168) Your impending vote on the solar surcharge request from CMP is of great importance to Maine citizens and businesses. The future will depend on alternative energy and Maine should lead, not introduce roadblocks. It is imperative that the PUC send notice to CMP that this surcharge is unacceptable now and in the future. I strongly request that you disapprove any rate increases for the use of solar or alternative energy. CMP should look to Florida Power and Light and their shared natural gas/solar installation to get into the game of the future and not used a tax to Mainers to keep their books in the black. Respectfully, William Mercier
