Working at the power generating facility in Jonesboro for Stored Solar has allowed me to stay home for work, and that I'm am thankful for. If it wasn't for Stored Solar purchasing the two Plants, West Enfield & Jonesboro, I'm afraid to say that I would have packed up and moved. I have traveled a few times in the past for work before my wife and I had kids and we were able to make things work. After the plants shut down in the spring of 2016 I went back on the road for a short time and with having two boys one 15 the other 11 made things much more difficult, so it's safe to say that traveling for work is no longer an option. Stored Solar has allow myself and fellow co-workers the chance to stay close to home for work with a fair income in Washington County, where job opportunities in this line of work are slim in this state. Besides helping employees of the facility directly, the plant has given income to wood venders, wood cutters, chipper operators, skidder operators, truck drivers and more, thus creating a much bigger picture of how many more people are affected by the operation of Stored Solar's Bio-Mass Plants.

I am writing in support of Stored Solar LLC. I've worked at the West Enfield plant since 2005. When the plant closed in 2016, I had to take a job that took me away from my family. It was a great relief when I received the call to come back. The money from these plants goes throughout the communities and supports allot of the local areas. The local delivery companies, their drivers, vendors, local stores in both West Enfield and Jonesboro would take a large hit. The Energy parks and business parks that Stored Solar LLC is trying to create would be a substantial loss to the communities if they do not go through. Stored Solar LLC is trying to think outside the box and bring jobs and money back to these communities that need it.

I work at the stored solar jonesboro facility. This facility is important to me because it is one of the only jobs that uses my college degree in this area. The plant allows me to work close to home instead of working out of state. Most of my career has been out of state due to the lack of jobs in the area. The plants are important to the community by providing jobs at the plant and utilizing the work of local contractors for various tasks associated with upkeep and repairs of such a facility. The plant helps many people in the logging industry as we buy biomass chips for fuel. We use enough wood chip fuel to utilize many logging contractors which provide many jobs in the area. It is also important for our economy to support these types of business that are trying to innovate our areas and create new ideas and jobs in our area. It is important for stored solar to receive this money from the puc to keep the plants in operation so that they are able to move forward and create and get important co hosts at the facilities to help out our communities. With a great deal of the logging industry dwindling, these plants provide a place for the loggers to remove and sell the biomass from the forest.

PUC: I urge you to grant the funds to help keep these biomass plants producing. Not only do they provide good paying jobs for my family and my coworkers families a lot of people will be adversely affected if these plants do not stay in operation. This area has been greatly affected with all the mill closings and would only be magnified if something were to happen to the plants. In closing please grant the funding for all our sakes.

I am writing to support the continuation of the active, generating, biomass plants in our area. Stored Solar facility is an important factor in DownEast and mid-state forest management. The production and use of the one third of low value wood, is needed to replace the loss of the pulpwood market in our area. By doing forest thinning and improving the health of forest, that one third is more important to remove to allow room for the more valuable wood productive healthy forest for the future. With the domestic created energy and heat, these facilities are a valuable tool to grow the economy, engaging the local labor force, and will augment local industry and agriculture These plants are vital for back-up electricity and to augment the local electricity grid. The production of heat as a by-product is a win-win result for the depraved areas of rural Maine. As a seventh generation farmer/ woodland manager, I have seen the devastation that insects can create in our area. With the forecast of potential budworm infestation heading our way, this biomass protocol would reduce the hazardous effect that possible forest fires would wreak if the biomass quality wood is left to stand and die. The facilities were designed and built for streamlined efficiency of access to the plant for dumping the loads. As the petroleum fuel price fluctuates; the biomass stream would offer a consistent price, generating income for local and US firms. Hydro and nuclear sources of power non-existent in our state, so renewable wood energy would be stable in a shifting energy supply from outside of our country. In conclusion, the active and generating Stored Solar facilities are vital to our DownEast and rural Maine economies. By utilizing the renewable energy source of low-grade wood fiber, the positive effects and electricity created reach many communities, now and in to the future.

My name is Aaron Bell and I urge you to support Stored Solar's efforts to create a viable biomass business in West Enfield and Jonesboro. I operate Tide Mill Organic Farm on coast of Washington County. For eight generations our family has looked to the forests and fields to provide our livelihoods. Now more than ever Washington county needs any market to help the struggling forest products industry. By having a market for the biomass, landowners and contractors are able to make income while thinning the forests to create higher value for future harvests. It's crucial that a biomass market exist in Jonesboro because to grow high quality sawlogs we need to thin the land appropriately, and much of what needs to be thinned is only good for biomass. I also like Stored Solar's creative approach to fostering symbiotic relationships with other business in Washington county that could benefit from more affordable heat and electricity. I am currently researching the advantages of increasing our organic poultry production by building more infrastructure next to the plant in Jonesboro. By having access to heat and utilities at one third the cost, we can produce high quality organic chicken very competitively to supply to Boston markets. With the deterioration of economic opportunity and overall lack of good jobs in Washington County, we desperately need anything we can get. Stored Solar is investing in our community and we welcome them and look forward to working with them on creative solutions to the challenge of economic growth in Washington County. -- Aaron Bell, Tide Mill Farm . 207-263-7135

To Whom It May Concern, I have had the pleasure of working for Stored Solar LLC for more than a year now. Our family went thru a difficult time when I was laid off from the previous owner, Covanta Energy. I was forced to take a job with less pay, long travel time and crazy hours, which kept me away from my family more than I should have been. Stored Solar LLC, has been a great company to work for. Things have gotten back to normal for our family and I hope to continue to work at this plant for many years. This company has lots of plans for the future, to grow and to bring more jobs to this community. We need this company to continue running. Thank you for your time. Jacob Crosby

I just recently started working at the Jonesboro facility but I know how important these two Plants have been to my family. Currently 2 of my older brothers work at the Enfield Plant and have for quite some time, they both have young children and their family's would be greatly impacted if the plants closed down. My father also works in Enfield and has done so almost my entire life, so you see these plants are in our blood it's what we know, they allow us to work close to home for competitive wages and be home with our families at night. When I was first born my father worked construction and was gone a lot, but with him working at the plant he was able to coach a few of my brother's and my sports teams which is a very awesome thing. My uncle was also a previous employee for many years. So I support the biomass industry and look forward to seeing where these plants stand in the future.
