My CMP bill keeps rising even though I'm using less kw this yr than last yr. I live in a small house trailer but I'm paying about $250 / month now. I just called CMP but no help.

CMP's careless and pompous attitude towards their customers is appalling. Billing issues continue and no real concern on CMP's part. CMP is totally unfit to serve Maine customers. It is time for MPUC to revoke CMP's authority to operate in Maine and replace with a reputable company that can give the State of Maine the service and respect the people deserve! statute 35-A MRS ? 1511 - "The commission may, in an adjudicatory proceeding, suspend or revoke the authority of a public utility to provide service upon a finding that the public utility is unfit to provide safe, adequate and reliable service at rates that are just and reasonable." https://www.pressherald.com/2019/06/23/cmp-misled-the-public-mismanaged-rollout-of-new-billing-system/?utm_source=Headlines&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Daily&fbclid=IwAR3udOk9-JaD5ZbJSy3KViHPHxVHPUp75pVQTrFDVdil-O7L5rAVyZMts84

I just got a letter from mpuc stating that CMP tried calling me twice and also sent me a letter which I have no knowledge of. I originally requested 2016 and 2017 on 10/26/18 via email, but never received it. Requested again on 3/12/19 along with 2018. Also informed them that no bills have come in the mail. Last paper bill was received on 1/7/19. On 3/15/19 cmp sent me only the 2016 statements along with a one page consumption history (which I found useless). On the same day I called cmp back to let them know what was requested and what was received. I was on the phone with them for almost 30 minutes. On 4/4/19 still nothing in the mail. I called cmp and again they said they will make sure to get everything out to me. On 4/8/19 After receiving all documents for 2016, 2017, 2018 and finally a paper bill on, I started to go over everything and have noticed many discrepancies. The usage numbers are all over the place. I've noticed there were different usage numbers on 3 different invoices for specific months and years. Very confusing. 4/9/19, I called cmp again about some of my findings, and all they were able to tell me was that it's been fixed? I requested for another review/investigation on my usages and high bills. Specifically for the month of May 2016, 2017, 2018. May 2016 and 2017 we were on a family vacation in Florida for almost 2 weeks and my mother house sat. There's no way that usage was insanely high. According to the bill statements received in June reflecting usage for the month of May: 2016 monthly usage was 575. 2017 monthly usage was 1351 (135% increase?). 2018 monthly usage was 1081 (20% decrease?) *VERY drastic changes. *I have more examples. I was on the phone with them for almost an hour. First guy couldn't help, then I was transferred. In the end, they still couldn't explain to me the discrepancies. I asked if there was a way to compare analog readings vs. smart meter reading and she flat out said no.

From January 2018-August 2018 CMP billed us on a regular basis, come September we received a bill with an extra $2000.00 attached. They explained that they had been estimating for those last 8 months and was now just catching up. When I remarked that I had a smart meter it's was wiped away as immaterial. They gave us the impression that this happens all the time, and not a unusual event. I would say from this experience that the Smart Meters if operated in this way are not smart at all. And since I'm disabled it's put me and my wife in a difficult position.

In February 2018 I spoke to CMP as well as the PUC regarding a $500.00 monthly power bill which was an almost 100% increase from previous bills. After months of waiting CMP determined that there was no problem with the smart meter on my home. I am unable to narrow down if this is a time usage problem because according to both CMP and the PUC the energy manager tool on the CMP site is not accurate. In December 2018, I received another power bill of <$300.00 which was again a 100% increase from previous bills. My current bill for January 2019 has come in with this same increase. Contact with CMP has not resolved these issues to my satisfaction.

My sister (Mia Canestrari) own a 2-bedroom condominium in Ogunquit ME, this home has been in our family for over 30 years. This is our families second home and is opened for 6 - 8 months a year and is winterized for the remaining months, leaving only a crawl space heater to keep the water feeder line from freezing. We noticed a significant increase in Kwh in 2018, we made multiple calls to CMP, they assured us that they would go out to the property to assess the functionality of our meter. CMP then informed us that they could not access the meter, although both my sister and I (not trained electrical professionals) were able to do so. We again asked the CMP to come out to the property to read the meter and contacted MPUC on June 6th 2018 to report a 300% to 500% increase in Kwh's when comparing 2018 usage to the four previous years Kwh usage. Also when looking at 2014-2017 there is a clear pattern of usage (see attached Kwh graphs). I attest, that there have been no changes made to the property with respect to electrical appliances, heaters or any other electrical devices that would account for this increase. I again called the MPUC on 01/07/2019 to get an update on our complaint and found that the MPUC attempted to send a letter on July 26th indicating that our complaint was unresolved. I will make another attempt to have CMP send someone out to the property to check our meter. It is my hope that if CMP is unable or unwilling to resolve this issue that the MPUC will take the appropriate measures in our case and the other outstanding CMP customer complaints. Thank you for your consideration in this matter. Property address; 7 Ocean Meadows Ogunquit, ME 03907

For over a year now, CMP has been dramatically under-billed the Scarborough Sanitary Districts Wastewater Treatment Facility's account. Our typical bill prior to this issue was between $7,000 - $10,000 per month. For a year now, our bills have been less then $500/month; That is not a typo. All based on estimates. Despite calls to CMP, PUC and our attorneys, this issue has yet to be resolved. Our most recent bill jumped to $8,000/month which is more realistic but again based on an estimate. I have attached our most recent bill which in the monthly summary; the evidence of a problem is clear. It is clear to me that a full investigation is needed both in their billing practices and follow-up to issues. David Hughes, Superintendent Scarborough Sanitary District

My husband and I are very concerned ratepayers of CMP. We have been getting very high bills for quite some time now, even after we have used less power. Such as 1 less AC unit last summer and unplugging things when not in use. Still high bills. We cannot afford to be without power. We own a dairy farm. We now owe in the thousands and just can't afford their craziness. People have been told not to pay until this is figured out but what do we do about out bill racking up. We went through a period of no bills, then a disconnect notice along with the missing bills came all the same day. What are you going to do to help us? We have families. My family's livelihood depends on it. Is the investigation going to continue? It certainly should. We deserve better than this.

I really hope this investigation is going to continue on There are still so many unanswered questions I called CMP the other day about my bills from Oct 2017 to now I asked how my bills were so high when we only heated with wood all winter and we had a new hot water tank installed This yr 2018 to 2019 we have used only a monitor heater for heat and the same hot water heater and our bills are lower CMP can not answer my question but did say I should have hired an electrician to come check out my house they also told me that there probly was something wrong with my power running through the house but that it fixed itself REALLY power running through my house can fix itself? Please continue to look into this for the sake of ratepayers we can not afford these crazy amounts of money also please check into the meters more cmp told me there was nothing wrong with any of the meter yet I see in news stories that the GE meters can be faulty I have a GE meter I am getting no answers to any of my questions please help the ratepayers get answers
