We received a disconnection notice from Central Maine Power despite after contacting them and letting them know that my husband had a serious injury and has been out of work since October 25th and we are only able to pay what we can. Our only source of income is my VA comp disability. We've applied for fuel assistance and are waiting to hear back. We don't know what else to do.

I paid the last installment of our payment arrangement in January. My bill shows a zero balance for the payment arrangement, yet another installment was added to my account balance. A screenshot of my bill is attached. If they are making billing mistakes on such a simple matter, what else are they billing incorrectly? In addition, we installed a pellet stove but we are not seeing much difference in our bill. I think my bill may be estimated although it is not marked as such.

CMP does not need a rate increase. They have millions of dollars to spend on ads for the power corridor, so clearly they have too much money. They have done little to upgrade lines so we end up spending twice as much on maintenance and repairing outages. Ratepayers should not have to pay more because of their poor management. They have fought non stop against solar which would cut the costs for all ratepayers. Solar gives its best output when demand is high, feeding excess power back into the grid when it is needed most. This distributed feed reduces the need for expensive grid upgrades. CMP has had massive billing problems. As a customer that had to spend hours on the phone trying to resolve billing errors I can tell you that it wastes CMP time also. They are paying staff needlessly. Given all the overbilling it seems a rate increase is unnecessary. DISMANTAL CMP AND MAKE OUR POWER COMPANY PUBLICLY OWNED. THIS MODEL IS PROVEN TO WORK IN MAINE, PROVIDING BETTER, MORE RELIABLE SERVICE AT LOWER, LOWER LOWER RATES. There is no reason that CMP should charge more than say Kennebunk light and power. They should not be rewarded for subpar service by giving them a rate increase.

I have been in this dispute scince February 2017. I purchased my home in 2014 Nothing has changed . My electric bills have gone from $120 in the heart of winter to over $300 . My home is 1300 square feet . When this dispute started I was told by the puc Not to pay anything until I heard from them . Two years later out of the blue I get a disconnect For over $5000. The payment arrangements are not achievable. The usage and the actual electricity That is being used here is in no way accurate!! Something needs to be done about this mistreatment of power.

CMP should not be able to have a rate increase. They are ALREADY over charging their customers. They make up the amount that they want to charge as the smart meters do not work. OR the smart meters are programed to over charge the customer. They are over charging so much that people on disability checks can not afford the bills. I understand all companies increase but CMP triples the amount. When people get fuel assistance, they should automatically get help with the electricty. I along with others have been denied at least 3 years in a row. For what I understand from a friend that was getting assistance was also denied this year. It sounds like they are NOT helping anyone in need anymore. CMP needs to lower their rates, not increase them. AND we do not want the lines for MA coming here to Maine.

They are a bunch of crooks robbing the people of Maine and do not deserve a penny until they can get their billing in order and explain all the mistakes that are being made.

Last winter we had two pellet stoves got rid of one and got a wood stove,my daughter moved out so that is less electric and our bill went was 181.00 in Nov to Dec. 227.00 to 318.00 in Jan and now 325.00 when there is NO WAY IN HELL it should be that high!!! We have had beautiful weather and there were days when we didn't even turn the pellet stove on! We actually only turn it on at night! Something has to be done with them! I did dispute these Bill's with CMP and MPUC
