Commissioners Bartlett, Williamson-and Davis, Exercising your legislative mandate to provide oversight aligned with the best interests of the ratepayers, especially for those purchasing electricity is a serious duty. Electricity is a commodity of necessity, alas, many will forego other necessities to pay their light bill,,and many find themselves in arrears in bill payments. To be honest, I am convinced that most people in Maine would gladly forego so-called green energy if they knew it would cost them even just a penny more in electric bills,Climate change is hardly an issue with most Mainers. Struggling week to week to pay for food, shelter and other family needs takes priority in way too many Maine homes. It has pretty much always been that way. Maine is a poor state. Incomes are well below the other states. As you know, any large scale addition of generation in Maine means expensive transmission upgrades. Additional, redundant electricity such as wind and solar displaces existing generation, most likely natural gas-fired generation.Any additional, redundant generation paid by a purchasing contract outside of the ISO-NE competitive market has the distinct advantage of pricing it's output at a lower bid than generation that has only the ISO-NE market to bid into with the intent of receiving enough revenue to offset operating, maintenance and capital costs..I think the current herd of windmills in Maine that have power purchase agreements have displaced millions of megawatts of output from merchant plants, Mainly natural gas-fired plants and biomass plants. If it wasn't for a zealous legislature tripping all over themselves to advance their stupid agenda, a good lawyer would call these contracts an unfair market practice. Lastly, has anyone answered the question whether Maine is carbon neutral by being blessed by the magnificent amount of forested land

"The Production Tax Credit for wind "energy" serves only one purpose: tax avoidance. Wind is subprime power foisted upon rural communities by a predatory industry. Wind will not reduce the country's carbon footprint. It will not power our factories. It is highly disruptive to the landscape we cherish. It is about tax avoidance - pure and simple. The burden of wind's costs falls most heavily on those who can least afford to pay.... We are mothers and fathers. We are ratepayers and taxpayers. We understand wind energy. We understand it is little more than a dressed up bit of crony capitalism and support comes only at our expense. Please help to stop it. Don't make us continue to pay for it. "

There is no logic, no reason, to approve this project. Giving this group the tax credits to facilitate this is nothing but a subsidy for a few so they can continue to fleece our citizens of their money, and destroy some of the most pristine areas of Maine. HOW MANY WIND TURBINES DO WE HAVE TO HAVE TO REALIZE IT IS ALL NEGATIVE RESULTS WITH NO POSITIVE SIDE??? We have absolutely no need for subsidized overpriced electricity to replace what we have. Turbines do not save anything environmentally, but they kill raptors and bats who need all the protection they can get. THIS IS A BOONDOGGLE, A FRAUD, AND A TOTALLY MISREPRESENTED INDUSTRY. Don't continue to finance the destruction of Maine. Jack Gagnon Lakeville, Maine
