Is it permitted that CMP could use the day of Sunday March 24, 2024 as a day of 'assessment' and not immediately start restoration work on power outages from the storm on March 23, 2024? They argued that roads were dangerous, but they were largely clear of ice by 10am. It has the appearance of impropriety - as if they were trying to avoid weekend pay rates, and start crews on Monday. Or are they unprepared? Also a problem. It seems wrong - doesn't pass the sniff test. I am sure I am not alone in this assessment. Also, their website on outages totals by county is off by more than 100K of outages as compared to their public statements of about 220K outages. It tells me that they have a system that is designed to under-report, or that it is under-reporting for some reason. It would benefit them to under-report outages. Is the state getting accurate information? Should this be generating questions, and why is it that reporting off by that much, exactly? The tone is one of disinformation, under-reporting, or poorly designed systems that do not accurately reflect reality to the public. If any of these situations are accurate, it begs correction, and perhaps fines for operational failures and misrepresentation.

I do not approve of this compliance filing as the costs of post-storm restoration are too high. CMP has calculated that it's cheaper to pay the trucks and the fines for outages than take proactive preventative measures. They are not be held sufficiently accountable for this behavior. Their storm recovery costs would be mitigated by routine investment in grid reliability and in proactively mitigating threats to poles and lines. Not approving this filing would signal to CMP leadership that their current crisis management scheme is not acceptable. Mpuc must hold them accountable for their failures and compel them to do what's in the best interest of Mainers.

I am a first responder and I hope that MPUC does NOT direct CMP to slow restoration times to reduce costs.

-I'm a retired first responder and I know the strains prolonged outages have on communities. The OPA is suggesting that we wait longer for crews to respond to emergencies which is not acceptable. CMP responding to outages as quickly and safely as possible should be the most important consideration. We need to think about people and their needs. I have spoken with friends and family members; all are in agreement the OPA is out of touch with whom they say they represent. Please let us use common sense. Thank you
