I have served on the York Energy Steering Committee and as Chair of York's Climate Action Committee. Many of us on these committees as well as many York citizens are very interested in converting gas-powered lawn equipment to electric, but this is not addressed in the Triennial Plan. Many areas of the country have gone the route of banning them, and we were approached by a citizen to propose doing so, but I believe in incentives. Gas-powered leaf blowers and mowers have out-sized emissions; as much as driving a car 500-1100 miles. We can achieve a very cost-effective, significant reduction in emissions since electric blowers sell for less than $100. Below is some information about the out-sized carbon emissions of gas-powered leaf blowers and mowers. I have included a link to an article about the record growth of US power equipment shipments in recent years. If there is any entity in Maine which tracks the data for the state for the number of units of, and the emissions of, power equipment, we can quantify the carbon reduction. I submitted comments to Efficiency Maine and the Triennial Plan committee, but my pleas have not resulted into incentives in the Plan for commercial and residential electric lawn equipment. I have approached commercial landscapers to convert, but they need financial incentives to change. I request that Maine modify the Triennial Plan to include incentives for electrical yard equipment. https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2021-10-09/california-moves-toward-ban-on-gas-lawnmowers-and-leaf-blowers
